I am so happy we won our first game in the Euro 08. Denmark was strong as always and it feels so great that we finally could beat them when it matters the most!

The game was a drama from start to finish included my mistake on the 7th meter just before the end. But we won that is all that matters and I played a good game with eight goals. Six from 7 meter two others. I am so proud of my team. The guys fought like lions the whole game. Frode, Steinar, Glenn, Frank, Børge, yes everyone was so focused today. And look who we had on the bench. I am sure players like Kristian Kjelling will beat hard at the next possible chance he gets!

I am so tired. And happy. And proud of my team-mates.

Tomorrow we'll try and make things difficult for Russia.

Thanks to everyone who follows me on this page and elsewhere. Thanks for the support.

A new good match for us. The defense-play is solid and even if we are making things too hard for ourselves at times we are very difficult to play against right now. Portugal was not  very strong today, but I am still impressed that we have so much focus and that we never relax. And Frode Hagen, Steinar Ege and Glenn Solberg didn´t play...

I played 15 minutes in the second half and scored 7 goals out of 7 chances. I now have a good feeling when it comes to the hamstring-injury and look forward to go into the Euro Championship with self-confidence and the knowledge that I am recovered.

Tomorrow we meet Hungary, a very strong team. We will do our best to give them a hard time!

Hey!

Good news. My injury seems to recover well. Today I trained with the team again and it all feels fine. I am relieved. Even if I can feel something in the hamstring my doctor says its nothing to worry about so tomorrow I will train 100 percent.

Today we got new equipment because of our new head sponsor, Posten Norge. And yesterday we got suits to wear for special occasions... Both on and off the court we are now dressed for success!

In the meeting today we saw Germany against our group-opponent in the Euro Championship, Russia. Good to know what to expect in Drammen!

Polen-Norge 23-30

Toppscorer Polen: Karol Bielecki 5

What a game! Our defense play is close to perfect and that influences our fastbreaks. Thomas (Skoglund) scored no less than 10 goals and was the king of Valbyhallen. For me as a leftwing its great to see that we finally get things going when it comes to including the wings in our play. Its a bit irritating that I couldn´t play on a day like this when everything is going our way, but in the same way I feel great that Thomas did so well. Being so many good players at one position is one of our greatest strengths before the Euro Championship. When it comes to Poland they are not a bad team at all. They finished number two in last years WC in Germany. Even if we performed world-class at some stages today, we are humble when it comes to the next weeks. Its in Drammen 17. of January we will see what we are built of as a team and under pressure.

I had a good session in the gym today, my hamstring-injury feels ok, I think this will turn out just fine! Now we are on our way back to Norway and our camp in Drammen where we will train until the next tournement in Trondheim and Lillehammer. There we meet Hungary, Iceland and Portugal. We will work hard to make sure the spectators will have something to chear for next weekend!

Norge-Island 28-28 (12-14)
Brøndbyhallen

Ole Erevik, Mathias K. Holm - Erlend Mamelund 1, Steffen Stagavik, Kjetil Strand 4 (2), Thomas Skoglund 3, Bjarte Myrhol 1, Børge Lund 2, Håvard Tvedten 3, Jan Thomas Lauritzen, Kristian Kjelling 5 (1), André Jørgensen 2, Johnny Jensen, Rune Skjærvold 4 (2), Jarle Rykkje, Frank Løke 3.

Toppscorer Island: Olafur Stefansson 7 (2).

My injury made me leave the court after just 13 minutes today. This is the same problems that put me out of the pre-season matches with Logroño in August and September. I ´am not worried because it´s not so bad as it was last time and I threw in the towell at the right moment. Before I left the game I scored three goals, one in halfcourt-offence, two in fastbreak.

As for the team we had a rotten day at work. Both Frode Hagen, Glenn Solberg and Steinar Ege were resting and we used the game to try differnt systems and players. At one point we led by four goals, but in the end it was to much mess end the game
ended with a draw.

The doctor and the physiotherapist will do some more research on my injury this evening and tomorrow. What I do now is that I won´t play against Poland tomorrow. I am optimistic when it comes to being fit for fight before the Euro Championship.

Norway-Denmark 31-23

Today we played an incredible game against Denmark, number three in last years WC. An eight goal-win against our opponent in the first group-match in the European Championship in 13 days is solid. The best part is that we now have several good players in every position and everyone seems to be so focused on bringing Norway one step ahead in the world of handball. Our play has also developed a lot since WC
in Germany last year. Everyone is happy and the whole squad is looking forward to the 17. of January when the handball-party starts in Drammen, Norway. That said, this was only a testgame and in January it´s a whole new battle.

I scored two goals and as the rest of the team I can still work on my attacking play. My form is good and I look forward to continue working on my defence and attacking skills. Tomorrow we meet Iceland and we will work hard to try to give them a hard time too!
